Made myself a delicious ‘egg in a basket’ the other morning for breakfast.
While the egg and toast were frying I sautéed pear slices in butter, lemon, honey & rosemary. When the egg was half done I put the pear on top with some of the sauce, covered it all in a smoked cheese blend and stuck it in the oven on broil for a few minutes.
I think part of the reason it came out so well was it was my lucky day - a double yoke egg and they came out perfectly runny just the way I like it!
I have been really enjoying working at Fotocare for the past two weeks. My coworkers are all really easy to work with and I’ve been like a kid in a candy store learning about all kinds of equipment that I would otherwise not afford to touch.
We rented out a Leica S2 to a photographer the other day. The S2 is a sweet camera, it has a huge 30x45mm, 37.5 megapixel sensor (I know, photo nerd moment). He took a photo of me while testing it out:

Its pretty much unedited, just color balance and contrast. The crazy thing is this was shot at ISO 1200. For a medium format digital that’s insane. Here’s what its like at almost 100%:

One of the best perks to this job is that I can take home gear. This weekend one of my biggest dreams came true: I took out the Hasselblad Xpan. I shot at least five rolls on it and am terribly sad I have to return it this morning. Maybe i’ll develop, scan, and upload them within the next month, maybe.
This is where I’ll be tonight:

Looks like its going to be pretty sweet.
I’ve been interning at Root for a few weeks now. Its a well oiled machine. I’ve been learning a lot and meeting some great people.
